About Your Purchase

Sterling Silver

925 Sterling Silver composes of 92.5% pure silver and the remaining is other metals (such as copper). The added metal makes Sterling Silver stronger and more durable than pure silver. Our jewellery is all lead, cadmium and nickel free.

Ethically Sourced, Sustainably Made (more info here)

They are ethically sourced and made in Thailand. Your jewellery doesn't need to cost the earth. Wear your jewellery with peace of mind that it has been ethically sourced, and is made from 100% recycled silver by fairly paid employees who work in a safe environment. We and our suppliers consistently strive to minimise their carbon footprint.

Silver coating, Rhodium coating and E-coating

All of our pieces are coated with an E-coat layer (an ultra-fine layer of organic lacquer), plus a 2 micron thick layer of pure Silver or Rhodium for silver pieces, to improve their water and tarnish resistance. You can read more about each coating here.

The extra coating mentioned above protects your jewellery from scratches, daily wear & tear, and increases the life span and shininess of your pieces. This also means they don’t need regular polishing. However, with extra care such as polishing them with a silver polishing cloth, storing them properly, in a jewellery box or other enclosed place will make them last longer.

Water and Tarnish-resistant vs. Water and Tarnish-proof

It is not true to say that Sterling Silver is tarnish-proof. Sterling Silver oxidises naturally. However, with the E-coat method, our pieces are safe to be in contact with water (such as shower water). Water will eventually oxidise Sterling Silver but it can be easily polished to get back its shininess. Sterling Silver comprises of 7.5% copper. I would not describe them as water & tarnish-proof. It is just the matter of time when the E-coat layer wears off. But again, they can be polished and look like new.
Chlorinated water (swimming pool water) and salted water (sea water) and other chemicals such as perfume, lotion, hair spray, etc. are extremely corrosive to silver. We highly recommend that you take your jewellery off when getting into the pool or the ocean or get in contact with chemicals. Good news is if you forget to take them off, they won't be instantly damaged. Just rinse them under clean water to remove the chemical on the surface of the pieces and pat dry.

Hypoallergence

Generally, Sterling Silver is hypoallergenic due to the high silver content. However, some people might still have reactions to Sterling Silver if they have severe metal allergies.

Gold Plated Pieces

Our gold pieces are plated with 24k gold. Most of our gold pieces are flash gold-plated (0.05 microns), except rings are 0.25 microns or more. As they are not 100% solid gold, they need extra care to maximise their life span. Avoid contact with perfume, water, chlorine, etc. to prevent colour fading.

Sterling Silver Delicacy

Due to high silver content, Sterling Silver is quite delicate. So don’t panic if you see your jewellery warped slightly (especially at the posts). You can use your fingers and gently reshape it
